Terms and conditions

Method of payment            

You will be paid monthly, 2 weeks in arrears and 2 weeks in advance for each calendar month. Your salary will be paid on the 17th of each month. 

Hours of work                       

Most people work 36 hours per week. This may include evening, weekend and night work. The actual hours worked may vary to take account of any change in the support that is provided. 

Annual leave                       

Employees are entitled to 23 days annual leave, plus 10 public holidays in their first year of service.  Annual leave entitlement rises by one day for each year's service up to 28 days. This entitlement will be worked out on a pro-rata basis for part time staff. The annual leave year is from 1st January to 31st December.

Training and development     

We are committed to the continued development of staff. This is supported by our internal training programme, our SVQ programme and support for staff to meet their individual responsibility for continuing professional development (CPD).

Smoking policy                    

PfPSC&S operates a 'No Smoking' policy which includes all premises, grounds of premises and in vehicles.

Pre-employment checks    

Offers of employment are  subject to satisfactory references, a successful medical assessment and Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check (this check also includes any spent convictions). Any conviction(s) will be given consideration in relation to how relevant the conviction is to the position applied for. Please note that a start date will not be confirmed until the PVG certificate, references and two references are received, reviewed and considered to be satisfactory.

Employment eligibility         

Under Section 8 of the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996 the successful applicant will be required to provide us with evidence of their eligibility to work in this country. Offers of employment are subject to this evidence being provided.

Employee's are offered a Stakeholder Pension, which they are eligible to join on the 1st month following completion of 3 months' service.
